Company Story
1954 - Kontron AG was founded in Eching, Germany by two engineers, Hubert Hoeffl and Max Levy.
1960 - Kontron started developing and manufacturing electronic components and systems.
1970 - Kontron introduced its first industrial computer, the Kontron 80/10.
1980 - Kontron went public with an initial public offering (IPO) on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
1990 - Kontron expanded its business into the Asian market, opening offices in Japan and Singapore.
1995 - Kontron acquired the German company, Datasoft, expanding its product portfolio.
2000 - Kontron introduced its first embedded computer module, the ETX (Embedded Technology eXtended).
2005 - Kontron acquired the US-based company, Apex, expanding its presence in the North American market.
2010 - Kontron launched its first cloud-based services for the industrial automation market.
2014 - Kontron acquired the German company, InnoSys, expanding its IoT (Internet of Things) capabilities.
2017 - Kontron was acquired by the UK-based company, S&T AG, and became a subsidiary of the S&T Group.
