1795 - Foundation of Rieter as a textile machinery manufacturer in Winterthur, Switzerland.
1804 - Rieter starts producing spinning machines.
1850 - Rieter begins exporting textile machinery to Europe and overseas.
1900 - Rieter becomes a joint-stock company.
1920 - Rieter starts producing machinery for the production of synthetic fibers.
1950 - Rieter expands its business to Asia and Latin America.
1980 - Rieter acquires several textile machinery manufacturers in Europe and the US.
1990 - Rieter begins to focus on spinning technology and divests its weaving and knitting machinery business.
2000 - Rieter acquires the German company, Brückner, and expands its business in the nonwoven sector.
2010 - Rieter introduces its first automated rotor spinning machine, the R 70.
2015 - Rieter celebrates its 220th anniversary and launches its first digital spinning mill, the Rieter Digital Mill.
