1909 - The Visp-Zermatt-Bahn (VZ) railway company was founded, which later merged with BVZ Holding AG.
1960 - The BVZ Holding AG company was formed through the merger of the VZ and SOB railway companies.
1999 - BVZ Holding AG took over the operations of the Furka Oberalp Bahn (FO) railway company.
2003 - The company was rebranded as BVZ Holding AG, with a focus on regional rail transport and tourism.
2010 - BVZ Holding AG acquired a majority stake in the Rhätische Bahn (RhB) railway company.
