1901 - ISS was founded by Ejnar Andersen in Copenhagen, Denmark as a small cleaning business.
1935 - ISS began to expand its services to include facility management and security.
1950 - ISS started its international expansion, first to Sweden and then to other European countries.
1962 - ISS went public with an initial public offering (IPO) on the Copenhagen Stock Exchange.
1975 - ISS expanded to Asia, starting with operations in Hong Kong.
1986 - ISS entered the US market with the acquisition of a cleaning company in New York.
1996 - ISS acquired the Danish facilities management company, SKJ.
2001 - ISS acquired the UK-based facilities management company, ISS UK.
2005 - ISS acquired the US-based facilities management company, Sanitors Inc.
2010 - ISS acquired the Australian facilities management company, Tempo Services.
2015 - ISS acquired the French facilities management company, Temco.
2018 - ISS acquired the US-based facilities management company, GCA Services Group.
