2012 - Elasticsearch was first released as an open-source project by Shay Banon.
2013 - Elasticsearch BV was founded by Shay Banon, Steven Schuurman, Uri Boness, and Simon Willnauer.
2014 - Elasticsearch BV raised $24 million in Series B funding from Index Ventures.
2015 - Elasticsearch BV rebranded as Elastic and expanded its product line to include Logstash, Beats, and X-Pack.
2016 - Elastic raised $50 million in Series C funding from Index Ventures and Benchmark Capital.
2018 - Elastic went public with an initial public offering (IPO) on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) under the ticker symbol ESTC.
2019 - Elastic acquired Endgame, a security company, to expand its security capabilities.
2020 - Elastic acquired Search Guard, a search security company, to enhance its security features.
