Company Story
1937 - Saab AB (publ) was founded as Svenska Aeroplan Aktiebolaget (SAAB) in Trollhättan, Sweden.
1947 - Saab 91, the first Saab-designed aircraft, made its maiden flight.
1955 - Saab 35 Draken, a supersonic jet fighter, made its first flight.
1963 - Saab 37 Viggen, a multi-role fighter, made its first flight.
1995 - Saab AB (publ) was listed on the Stockholm Stock Exchange.
1998 - Saab acquired Celsius AB, a Swedish defense company.
2006 - Saab acquired Ericsson Microwave Systems, a Swedish defense electronics company.
2010 - Saab acquired the Swedish operations of the Norwegian defense company, Kongsberg Gruppen.
2015 - Saab acquired the Danish defense company, Nordic Defence Industries (NDI).
