1927 - C&F Bank was founded as Citizens and Farmers Bank in West Point, Virginia.
1969 - The bank was renamed C&F Bank and Trust Company.
1983 - C&F Financial Corporation was formed as a holding company for C&F Bank and Trust Company.
1994 - C&F Financial Corporation began trading on the NASDAQ stock exchange under the ticker symbol CFFI.
2005 - C&F Bank and Trust Company merged with C&F Bank, creating a single bank with 14 branches.
2011 - C&F Financial Corporation acquired 1st Commonwealth Bank of Virginia, adding 5 branches.
2017 - C&F Bank and Trust Company merged with Peoples Bank of Virginia, adding 11 branches.
2020 - C&F Financial Corporation acquired Midlothian-based Central Virginia Bank, adding 6 branches.
