1893 - Capitol Federal Savings Association was founded in Topeka, Kansas.
1920s - The association survived the Great Depression and continued to grow.
1960s - Capitol Federal expanded its services to include consumer loans and credit cards.
1980s - The association began to offer mortgage loans and investment services.
1990s - Capitol Federal expanded into the Kansas City market.
2000s - The association converted to a stock savings bank and became Capitol Federal Financial, Inc.
2010s - Capitol Federal expanded into the Wichita market and introduced online banking and mobile banking services.
2015 - Capitol Federal celebrated its 122nd anniversary and was recognized as one of the top 10 safest banks in the US.
2020 - Capitol Federal Financial, Inc. was listed on the NASDAQ stock exchange under the ticker symbol CFFN.
