1892 - Crown Holdings, Inc. was founded as the Crown Cork and Seal Company of Baltimore.
1906 - The company developed the first crown cap, a precursor to the modern soda bottle cap.
1927 - Crown Cork and Seal Company of Baltimore merged with New Process Cork Company.
1963 - The company changed its name to Crown Cork & Seal Company, Inc.
1976 - Crown Cork & Seal Company, Inc. went public with an initial public offering (IPO).
1991 - The company changed its name to Crown Holdings, Inc.
1995 - Crown Holdings, Inc. acquired the packaging operations of CarnaudMetalbox.
2003 - The company acquired the packaging operations of Donnelly & Sons.
2014 - Crown Holdings, Inc. acquired the packaging operations of Mivisa Envases.
2016 - The company acquired the packaging operations of Empaque, a Mexican packaging company.
