1960 - The company started operations with a small fleet of trucks.
1968 - Heartland Express went public with an initial public offering (IPO).
1970 - The company expanded its operations to the Midwest region.
1980 - Heartland Express acquired its first major competitor, Progressive Industries.
1990 - The company expanded its operations to the West Coast.
1995 - Heartland Express acquired the assets of National Carriers.
2000 - The company launched its logistics division.
2005 - Heartland Express acquired the assets of M.S. Carriers.
2010 - The company expanded its operations to the East Coast.
2015 - Heartland Express acquired the assets of Gordon Trucking.
2020 - The company celebrated its 65th anniversary.
