1916 - Kronos Worldwide, Inc. was founded as a subsidiary of NL Industries, Inc.
1951 - The company began producing titanium dioxide (TiO2) at its Lake Charles, Louisiana, facility.
1969 - Kronos acquired the TiO2 business of Food Machinery and Chemical Corporation.
1985 - NL Industries, Inc. spun off Kronos as an independent company.
1993 - Kronos acquired the TiO2 business of ICI plc.
2000 - The company acquired the TiO2 business of Bayer AG.
2004 - Kronos acquired the TiO2 business of Ciba Specialty Chemicals.
2013 - The company acquired the TiO2 business of Rockwood Holdings, Inc.
2015 - Kronos Worldwide, Inc. acquired the TiO2 business of Sachtleben GmbH.
