1969 - Overseas Shipholding Group, Inc. was founded as a subsidiary of the American Ship Building Company.
1972 - The company went public with an initial public offering (IPO).
1980 - Overseas Shipholding Group, Inc. began to expand its fleet through acquisitions.
1990 - The company started to operate in the international market, expanding its presence globally.
1995 - Overseas Shipholding Group, Inc. acquired the tanker fleet of GATX Corporation.
2000 - The company formed a joint venture with Heidmar Inc. to operate a fleet of tankers.
2005 - Overseas Shipholding Group, Inc. acquired the tanker fleet of Stelmar Shipping Ltd.
2010 - The company filed for bankruptcy protection under Chapter 11 of the US Bankruptcy Code.
2014 - Overseas Shipholding Group, Inc. emerged from bankruptcy protection and began to rebuild its fleet.
2019 - The company celebrated its 50th anniversary and continued to operate a modern fleet of tankers and other vessels.
