2007 - The company went public with an initial public offering (IPO) of common stock.
2010 - Summit Hotel Properties acquired its first hotel, the 149-room Hilton Garden Inn in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
2011 - The company acquired 10 hotels from InterContinental Hotels Group, expanding its portfolio to 14 hotels.
2012 - Summit Hotel Properties acquired 12 hotels from Hyatt Hotels Corporation, increasing its portfolio to 26 hotels.
2015 - The company acquired 27 hotels from Hyatt Hotels Corporation, expanding its portfolio to 53 hotels.
2017 - Summit Hotel Properties acquired four hotels from Marriott International, increasing its portfolio to 77 hotels.
2018 - The company merged with LaSalle Hotel Properties, expanding its portfolio to 103 hotels.
2020 - Summit Hotel Properties was acquired by Oaktree Capital Management, L.P. and became a private company.
