1983 - Village Farms International, Inc. was founded by Michael A. DeGiglio and Albert W. Cunningham.
1985 - The company began growing cucumbers in Marfa, Texas.
1994 - Village Farms started growing tomatoes in Marfa, Texas.
1996 - The company went public with an initial public offering (IPO).
2001 - Village Farms acquired the assets of a large greenhouse operation in Monahans, Texas.
2004 - The company expanded its operations to Canada, acquiring a greenhouse operation in British Columbia.
2007 - Village Farms began growing bell peppers in its Canadian greenhouses.
2010 - The company started growing tomatoes in its Canadian greenhouses.
2013 - Village Farms acquired a majority stake in a Canadian hemp company, Village Fields Hemp.
2018 - The company entered into a joint venture with Emerald Health Therapeutics to form Pure Sunfarms Corp., a cannabis company.
2020 - Village Farms International, Inc. acquired 100% ownership of Pure Sunfarms Corp.
