Company Story
1865 - Dowlais Iron Company was founded by Sir Ivor Herbert and others.
1900 - The company became a limited company, Dowlais Iron and Steel Company Limited.
1916 - The company merged with Guest, Keen and Nettlefolds Limited to form Guest, Keen and Nettlefolds (Dowlais) Limited.
1967 - The company merged with Baldwins Limited to form British Steel Corporation.
1986 - The company was privatized and became Dowlais Group plc.
1990 - Dowlais Group plc was acquired by the French company, Usinor.
1999 - Usinor merged with Sacilor and became part of the Arcelor group.
2006 - Arcelor merged with Mittal Steel to form ArcelorMittal, the world's largest steel producer.
