1966 - International Bancshares Corporation (IBC) was founded by a group of entrepreneurs in Laredo, Texas.
1970 - IBC acquired its first bank, Laredo National Bank.
1980 - IBC expanded its operations to the Rio Grande Valley with the acquisition of Valley National Bank.
1990 - IBC acquired Commerce Bank of San Antonio, marking its entry into the San Antonio market.
1994 - IBC went public with an initial public offering (IPO) of common stock.
2000 - IBC acquired Texas Bank, expanding its presence in the Austin and Central Texas markets.
2004 - IBC acquired First National Bank of Edinburg, further expanding its presence in the Rio Grande Valley.
2010 - IBC acquired the banking operations of Hillcrest Bank, expanding its presence in the Dallas-Fort Worth market.
2013 - IBC acquired the banking operations of First National Bank of McAllen, further expanding its presence in the Rio Grande Valley.
2018 - IBC acquired Guaranty Bank & Trust Company, expanding its presence in the Dallas-Fort Worth and East Texas markets.
