1905 - National Presto Industries, Inc. was founded as the Northwestern Steel and Iron Works.
1924 - The company changed its name to the Presto Manufacturing Company.
1930s - Presto began manufacturing pressure canners and other household appliances.

1950s - Presto resumed production of household appliances, including pressure canners and cookers.
1969 - The company changed its name to National Presto Industries, Inc.
1970s - National Presto Industries, Inc. expanded its product line to include electric appliances, such as toasters and blenders.
1980s - The company began manufacturing ammunition, including cartridges and reloading components.
1990s - National Presto Industries, Inc. continued to diversify its product line, adding new household appliances and outdoor recreational products.
