1983 - Hyundai Electronics Industries Co., Ltd. was established.
1985 - Started mass production of 256K DRAM.
1993 - Developed 16M DRAM, the first in the world.
1996 - Changed company name to Hyundai Electronics Industries Co., Ltd.
1999 - Split into two companies: Hyundai Electronics Industries Co., Ltd. and Hyundai Microelectronics Co., Ltd.
2001 - Changed company name to Hynix Semiconductor Inc.
2002 - Established a joint venture with STMicroelectronics, Numonyx.
2012 - Changed company name to SK hynix Inc. after SK Telecom acquired a 20.1% stake.
2013 - Acquired the NAND flash business of Fujitsu Semiconductor.
2015 - Acquired the SSD business of Innodisk Corporation.
2018 - Acquired the Intel NAND memory and storage business.
2020 - Developed the world's first 176-layer 3D NAND flash memory.
